What is a Signal?
A Signal is a live MetaTrader 5 master account published on PositionRelay under a unique Signal ID. Each listing shows frozen backtest evidence from a verified company portfolio next to the live track record since publication. Subscribers pay a monthly EUR price and copy the master with SlaveSubscriber.
This is not the same as TradingView webhook trade signals. Marketplace Signals use a Signal ID and a separate Stripe subscription per signal.
Trading involves risk. Nothing on the marketplace is financial advice. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
How copying works
The provider runs MasterPublisher on their master account. Trades sync to the PositionRelay cloud. Subscribers run SlaveSubscriber with InpSignalId set to the Signal ID. The slave mirrors opens, closes, and modifications while the subscription is active or trialing.
Backtest metrics are simulated and frozen when the signal is submitted. Live metrics only cover trades since the signal was published. Public pages show percentages and ratios only — never absolute balances.
- Unreliable — fewer than 30 days live or fewer than 20 closed live trades.
- No live data — zero closed live trades since publication.
- Offline — the master has not synced for more than 72 hours.
- Backtest broker differs — the live broker company is not the same as the backtest company.
How to subscribe
You do not need a PositionRelay plan to follow a Signal. A Signal subscription alone is enough.
- Browse the Signals marketplace and open a listing. Compare frozen backtest metrics with the live track record and read the status badges.
- Tick the risk acknowledgement and start the free trial (card required).
- Open Dashboard → My signals and copy the Signal ID.
- Install SlaveSubscriber from MQL5 Market. Set InpUserId to your PositionRelay user ID and InpSignalId to the Signal ID.
- The first broker login that connects is bound to the subscription. You can move it to another login once every 7 days.
Subscriber billing
Each Signal has a fixed monthly EUR price. The 30-day free trial is available once per signal per subscriber and once per broker login across the platform. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, billing starts automatically.
Cancel any time from Dashboard → My signals → Billing portal. Price changes apply to new subscribers only; existing subscriptions keep the price they started with.
If a subscription lapses or a payment fails (past_due), copying stops immediately. Positions already open on your account stay open and remain your responsibility.
If the provider’s master is offline for more than 72 hours, affected subscribers receive a prorated credit or trial extension. If a Signal is unpublished, subscriptions are cancelled and unused time is refunded pro rata.
Become a Signal provider
Providers sell access to a live master account. To submit a Signal you need all of the following.
- A master trading account running MasterPublisher and syncing to PositionRelay.
- A verified, current company portfolio built from your Favorites by the combined MT5 tester on Optimizations (Ultimate plan).
- Stripe Connect payouts enabled so you can receive the provider share.
- At most one live signal (draft, pending review, or published) per master account.
How to publish
If payouts setup fails, the error toast explains the next step. Operators may also see the raw Stripe reason. Complete any Stripe Connect platform questionnaire if the platform setup is still incomplete.
- Open Dashboard → My signals → Provider dashboard and set up Stripe payouts. Finish onboarding until payouts are enabled.
- Submit a signal: choose your master account ID, a verified current portfolio ID, a name, display name, monthly price (€5–€500), and a plain description (no links or profit promises).
- The backtest evidence is frozen at submission. The listing starts as pending review.
- An admin approves or rejects it. Only after approval does the Signal appear on the public marketplace, and the live track record starts from the publish date.
How earnings work
PositionRelay is the merchant of record. On each paid subscription invoice, PositionRelay keeps a 5% platform fee. Stripe processing fees are deducted from the provider’s remaining 95%. The resulting provider share is transferred to the provider’s Stripe Connect account.
Trial months generate no payout. Refunds and chargebacks reverse the provider share proportionally. The provider dashboard shows total earned, paid out, and pending.
Example (illustrative Stripe fee only): a €29.00 invoice → 5% platform fee €1.45 → remaining €27.55. If Stripe’s fee were €1.00, the provider share transferred would be €26.55. Actual Stripe fees vary; this example does not promise income.
Content rules
Signal names and descriptions must be accurate. They must not promise or guarantee profits, describe a strategy as risk-free, contain links or third-party contact details, or misrepresent the live account, backtest, broker, or track record. PositionRelay may reject, edit, or unpublish listings that break these rules. Signals are not financial advice.
Troubleshooting
- Payouts can't be set up / Stripe Connect incomplete — the platform’s Stripe Connect profile is not finished. Contact support with the ref in the toast (operators complete the questionnaire in the Stripe Connect dashboard).
- Finish payout onboarding to submit — complete Stripe Express onboarding until payouts are enabled.
- Portfolio is not verified / older EA revision / out of date / rebuild hasn't finished — rebuild the company portfolio on Optimizations → Portfolio from current Favorites and wait until it shows as verified.
- Portfolio has no company — rebuild from Favorites so the snapshot includes a broker company.
- Master account not found — use a master account you own that runs MasterPublisher.
- Master account already has a live signal — wait for review, or ask an admin to reject/unpublish the existing listing first.
- Subscription inactive / SlaveSubscriber standby — renew billing; open positions are left untouched.
- Broker login already bound — use rebind (once every 7 days) from My signals, then connect the new login.
